Hester & Duncan.

Jenny Leigh Hester and Scott Joseph Duncan were united in marriage in a candlelight ceremony on August 4, 2007, at Calvary Baptist Church in Tupelo.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Lex Hester Jr. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Willene Mobley Hester and the late Daniel Lex Hester Sr. of Tupelo and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Ward Abel Sr. of Mooreville.

The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Elbert Alan Duncan of Tupelo. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Duncan of Huntsville, Alabama; Mrs. Virgie Jackson of Tampa, Florida; Mrs. Margaret Roe Harrison and the late Emmett George Harrison of Birmingham, Alabama.


Officiating the ceremony were Dr. Bryant Barnes and Rev. David Langerfeld. A worship service of nuptial music was provided by Betty Sisk, organist; Lisa Tally, pianist; Cindy Mathis, harpist, Randy Wood, trumpeter; Ben Mathis, Aimee Prevost, and Sherry Vance, soloists; and friends.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless gown of ivory silk satin featuring a modified sweetheart neckline and embellished with intricately beaded silver embroidery. Fashioned with a fitted bodice accented with three cafe satin bands, the full A-line skirt fell from a dropped waistline and flowed into a chapel-length train. Her ivory waltz-length veil featured beaded embroidery on scalloped edging. She wore her mother's diamond drop and carried a hand-tied bouquet of Porcelana and Vendela roses and antique white hydrangeas.


Maid of honor was Lauren Shideler and matron of honor was Lane Napier Baxter. Bridesmaids were Lexie Gosselin; Allie Hester, Amy Hester, and Hester Lowe, cousins of the bride; Christina Dennery Hester and Kimberly Magee Hester, sisters-in-law of the bride; Alison Duncan Parker, sister of the groom; Sara Beth Parks; Aimee Prevost; and Lauren Springer. They wore periwinkle blue strapless satin dresses featuring taupe sashes and ruched A-line skirts. The flower girl was Maury Johnston.

The groom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were Cole Crenshaw; Lex Hester and Len Hester, brothers of the bride; T-Mac Howard; Parker Jones; Demarre Jones; Alex McIntosh; Oliver Parker, brother-in-law of the groom; Stuart Saulters; Ross Stone; and Brandon Weatherly. Ushers were Dustin Harrison, Rob Harrison, and Chet Murch. The ring bearer was John Henry McDade.

Program and registry attendants included Jodie Harrison, Maegan Landers, Laura Hunt, Molly Maynard, Tyler Kellum, and Allison Vaughan. The bride's proxy was Mary Stewart Rhea.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Hilton Garden Inn's BancorpSouth Convention Center. On the eve of the wedding, the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Harrisburg Baptist Church.

After a wedding trip to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, the couple is at home in Memphis, Tennessee.
