Heroes of punk; Also playing: Spear of Destiny, The Clashed.

TWO punk heroes are being brought to Stockton. Things kick off tonight when SPEAR OF DESTINY return to the Georgian Theatre for the regular Rock Garden Revisited evening, then next ThSursday ANDY CAIRNS of Therapy? plays an acoustic solo gig in the intimate Green Room venue next door.

Kirk Brandon's Spear of Desstiny are playing the Georgian for the third time in just over two years this evening.

They are best remembered in the mid-1980s for the singles Liberator and Prisoner of Love, and a trio of top 30 chart albums: One Eyed Jacks, World Service and Outland.

Despite a myriad of line-up changes Kirk Brandon has been a constant and continues to write, perform live and release new material.

His most recent effort Omega Point won high praise from Vive Le Rock magazine. The current Spear lineup sees Brandon joined by Craig Adams (The Mission, Sisters of Mercy and The Cult) on bass, Adrian Portas (New Model Army) on guitar with new drummer Mike Kelly.

Middlesbrough-based Clash-tribute band THE CLASHED make a quick return to the Georgian Theatre as the support band following on from their successful evening supporting Ruts DC.

Meanwhile Big Figure Promotions have also organised at the last minute a show by Andy Cairns, who has fronted Therapy? for more than 20 years and is currently undergoing a nationwide UK tour.

It's been over two decades since the band played The Arena in Middlesbrough back in 1992. He'll be at the Green Room in Stockton on Thursday, May 30.

Uniting punks, metalheads, indie kids and everyone in-between with their un-pigeonhole-able and unmistakable sound, the Ballyclare, Northern Ireland-born musician has happily straddled multiple genres over the course of 13 studio albums and counting.

Scarborough troubadour JOE SOLO is supporting.
