Hero Lowson keeps Moors in Trophy; FA Trophy.
BROMLEY 0 SPENNYMOOR TOWN 0 SPENNYMOOR Town produced a heroic display to take in-form National League side Bromley to a replay in the FA Trophy Quarter-Final.
Moors keeper Dan Lowson was his side's hero as they secured a second crack at a semi-final place in Tuesday night's replay.
Jason Ainsley's side started brightly but the hosts had the first real chance of the game when former Birmingham City defender Roger Johnson headed over the bar from 10 yards out.
Bromley kept pressuring and Ryan Hall was the Moors' saviour on 16 minutes as he cleared a Louis Dennis shot from the goalline.
Spenny grew into the game and created a good chance to take a surprise lead into half-time when Andrew Johnson tested keeper David Gregory with a shot from the edge of the area.
The Moors could and should have taken a lead early in the second half as Rob Ramshaw found himself in on goal but he was denied by a heroic block by Bromley defender Tyrone Sterling. The game opened up as it headed into the last 10 minutes and resolute defending from the Moors repelled the hosts' chances as they looked to snatch a place in the last four.
Kallum Griffiths headed an Omar Bugiel effort from the line and keeper Lowson then produced a wonder save to prevent Brandon Hanlon's downward header.
That ensured the two sides will meet once again at Brewery Field on Tuesday night.
