Here's the secret of the `perfick' casting.

Byline: By Tony Pogson

As Pa Larkin himself would have said, it looks like "just perfick" casting , with the Dyson twins of Slaithwaite, Elizabeth (left) and Kathryn for the roles of the Larkin twins.

They are appearing in the Spot On Musical Theatre's production of the Darling Buds Of May at Moldgreen United Reform Church on Thursday, October 27 to Saturday the 29th.

But we will let you into a secret. Twelve-year- old identical twins Kathryn, who plays Petunia, and Elizabeth, who is Zinnia in the play after the H E Bates book, do not like looking identical.

In fact off stage they insist on dressing differently so that they will not be mistaken for each other!

Mind you, they do both play the piano, take part in school plays and collect Beanie Babies, so perhaps they are not so different after all, with Kathryn having played Mary in the school Nativity and Aladdin in the panto, Elizabeth appearing in Romeo and Juliet and as the Princess in Aladdin.

Margaret Warmington produces the Darling Buds, with

Andrew McDermott as Pop Larkin, Deborah Mann as Ma and Elizabeth Priest making her Spot On debut as Mariette.

The picture was taken during a photo-shoot at Pat Hampshire's Factory Farm, Emley Moor, where she and her family have established a branch of Riding for the Disabled since 1979.

Tickets for October 27-29 (7.30pm), which includes a Saturday matinee (2.30pm), are available from Mrs Ann Shaw on 01484-305421, from Moldgreen Post Office or on the door.
