Herceptin winner in bridal joy.

ONE of the first breast cancer patients to successfully win the right to wonder drug Herceptin got married yesterday.

Elaine Barker, 43, wed Levi Slinger in front of 50 guests including members of the pressure group she founded, Fighting for Herceptin.

Elaine said: "I met Levi after my treatment but he has always been a great support. Back then, I never though this would happen, but here I am."

The mum of four, from Abbey Hulton, Staffs, won a High Court battle for the drug after she was refused treatment on being diagnosed in 2004. She is now clear of cancer.

Levi, 38, from North Yorks, said: "I'm so proud of Elaine. There are many reasons I'm attracted to her but especially because of her fighting spirit."
