Henry R. Keizer Named Global Managing Partner, Audit for KPMG International.

NEW YORK, Aug. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Henry R. Keizer, vice chair -audit for KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, has been named global managing partner, audit for KPMG International, according to an announcement by Mike Rake, chairman, KPMG International.

In his new position, Keizer, 49, will guide the consistent delivery of KPMG's audit methodology across KPMG International's global network of member firms, and will help drive strategy for serving KPMG's largest audit clients. He will also be a member of the international executive team.

Keizer will continue to serve as vice chair - audit for the U.S. firm, and also as a member of KPMG LLP's operating committee and management committee.

Appointed to the global managing partner, audit role by the board of KPMG International, Keizer succeeds Michael Hughes, who recently retired after a long and distinguished career with KPMG International's U.K. and European audit practices.

Keizer joined the U.S. member firm of KPMG in 1978 and was elected to the partnership in 1988. He spent 25 years with KPMG LLP in the New York metropolitan area serving various roles, including business unit professional practice partner, Securities and Exchange Commission reviewing partner, and lead engagement partner on a number of KPMG LLP's largest public audit clients. Previously, he was resident in the San Francisco office as the senior technical and risk management partner for the firm's Western U.S. audit practice.

Keizer has been a member of various committees associated with the U.S. member firm's Board of Directors, including chair of the Process Committee and as a member of the Audit & Finance Committee and the Ethics & Compliance Committee.

Keizer graduated summa cum laude from Montclair State University in New Jersey with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He is a member of the board of directors of the YMCA of Greater New York and held various leadership positions on the board of the Boys Scouts of America. Keizer resides in New York City.
