NORDIC BUSINESS REPORT-18 April 2006-Hennes & Mauritz reports zero sales growth in March(C)1994-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

The Swedish fashion chain Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) issued on Tuesday (18 April) its sales development statement for March, reporting a zero turnover increase compared to March 2005.

"The start of the season has been delayed due to the cold weather in March. The late spring and the fact that Easter does not occur until April have led to very weak sales mainly in Central Europe," H&M said.
