Helping start-ups secure financial investment.

TEDCO is making access to funding support for start-ups central to its business support programme with an investment readiness plan to give entrepreneurs access to the capital they need to set up and grow.

Through an extensive network of experienced regional business advisors, TEDCO offers a range of bespoke support packages to individuals looking to access funding or source investment partners to raise the capital needed to take a business from idea to thriving new venture. In the last 12 months alone, TEDCO has helped no less than 261 new ventures launch in the region.

Virgin StartUp is one of the lenders to have selected TEDCO as its North East delivery partner; TEDCO supports its programme offering low-cost government-backed business loans. The not-for-profit organisation has worked with TEDCO exclusively in the region to help more than 100 new businesses access PS1.2m start-up capital in the form of a low-cost business loan since the programme launched in late 2013.

Carole White, chief executive of TEDCO Business Support said: "We have been overwhelmed with the quality of new business ideas and the sheer ambition to create new ventures which exists in the region.

"We are on the front line of business support, getting start-ups access to the type of financing that can make or break a new idea.

"Whether the financing is to fund vital equipment, new premises, marketing support or for cash flow purposes, generally the capital required cannot always be met by the client alone.

"This is where we step in and advise on not only the best routes for accessing funds, but also how to get that business ready to successfully apply for investment.

"Whether it's helping businesses access financing to fund renovations for a high-end fashion boutique or even purchase equipment for a unique micro-brewery, TEDCO Business Support is helping entrepreneurs capitalise on their ideas. With so many talented entrepreneurs desperate to take the leap into self-employment, our experienced team of advisors are well placed to provide the right type of support and investment preparation required to turn business ideas in to a successful reality."
