SIX rotary club members are going to countries in Asia and Africa to help improve people's lives.

Barbara Connors-Fowler, president-elect of the Rotary Club of Monkseaton Centenary, North Tyneside, will be in Togo and Niger, West Africa.

Vera Russell will be working in the Himalayas, while Paul Keeley will join environmental and social projects in Tanzania.

Naveed Aslam will be at an eye camp in District Toba Tek Singh, Pakistan, and Vish-wanath Pulle will be visiting the GIRL India project in Vijayawada, India.

Dr Ram Reddy will work in Andhra Pradesh, India, for the fourth consecutive year.
