Help police find this pair.
Caught on camera, these two men are suspected of being behind two shop raids.
Police issued these pictures to track down thieves who struck at an off-licence and a newsagent's.
Alcohol and cigarettes were stolen in the raids and police and shop owners joined forces today to ask for help in tracking them down.
The first suspect was captured on video taking cigarettes from Victoria Wines, in Earsdon Road, West Monkseaton, Whitley Bay.
The second took wine from Mills Newsagent's, on The Parade, Wallsend. The manager at the Victoria Wine shop, who asked not to be named, said: "The lad came in two minutes before the shop closed and asked for some cigarettes.
"He went to get a drink out of the chiller and made on he was finding his money before grabbing stuff off the counter and running off.
"Anyone who knows who he is should contact the police and if we catch him it will deter other people from doing the same."
Although police have just released these CCTV images, both incidents took place last summer.
A police spokesman said: "Police are trying to identify an individual seen on camera. It follows an incident of shoplifting from Victoria Wines in Earsdon Road, West Monkseaton, on Saturday, July 10, 2004, around 9.50pm.
"We are also trying to identify an individual seen on camera following an incident of shoplifting from Mills Newsagent's, The Parade, Wallsend, on Saturday, August 14, 2004, around 9.30pm."
Anyone with any information on either incident should call on (01661) 863 046.
