Help at hand in family break-ups.

COUPLES struggling to resolve their marital disputes out of court are being offered help from Coventry and Warwickshire Family Mediation (CWFM).

The organisation is inviting people to drop in to its offices, at Coventry Point, in Market Way, city centre, from next Monday to Friday for a coffee and a chat to find out what their options are.

Family mediation works to give separated families alternatives to the legal route of agreeing on things like contact arrangements for children. Julie Dick, professional practice manager and mediator at CWFM, believes going through court can be a costly and stressful process for families.

She said: "Mediation provides the opportunity for people, particularly parents, to resolve their difficulties in a more constructive and informal way."

Family mediation is being promoted as part of a nationwide government campaign.
