Help Desk 2000(TM) Responds to IT Support Industry Demand With Launch of Three New Course Offerings.

ATLANTA, Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Help Desk 2000(TM), the industry's leading Help Desk certification, education and membership organization, today announced the launch of three new Help Desk education and certification programs.

In response to overwhelming demand within the information technology support industry, Help Desk 2000 is releasing three new programs: the Certified Field Support Technician(TM), the Help Desk 2000 PlusProgram(TM), and the Help Desk 2000 Certified Instructor(TM).

Each program, developed around a unique set of prerequisites, objectives, and Help Desk 2000 member and participant feedback, was designed to offer participants both the competitive advantage and industry-recognized achievement necessary for career success.

The Certified Field Support Technician program educates field support technicians on the best practices of technical, customer and business support. Course participants will learn proven methodologies for effective customer care and problem resolution, as well as the fundamentals of the technical support structure and procedures.

The Help Desk 2000 PlusProgram is an interactive seminar geared toward technical support directors and managers looking to garner innovative approaches to solving technology and business challenges. The Help Desk 2000 PlusProgram topic will change quarterly to ensure that it reflects the most current industry trends. For Fourth Quarter 1999, the topic is "Critical Thinking and Y2K." Skills learned in this program will be universally applicable long after Y2K issues are resolved.

Experienced adult education instructors learn how to deliver the Help Desk 2000 Certified Help Desk Manager(TM) and Certified Help Desk Professional(TM) certification programs through the Help Desk 2000 Certified Instructor course. As a Help Desk 2000 Certified Instructor, an in-house training professional is able to offer his or her company a cost-effective solution to educating and motivating their entire support teams.

"Help Desk 2000 is proud to offer these dynamic new programs to the industry. We are confident that technical support professionals will be equally excited by this opportunity for educational and career growth," said Pete McGarahan, Help Desk 2000 Chairman.

The Certified Field Support Technician and the PlusProgram will premiere next month. The Help Desk 2000 Certified Instructor course debuted in Europe earlier this year, and will launch in North America during February 2000. Information about course dates and locations will be available on the Help Desk 2000 Web site at www.helpdesk2000.org .
