OUT-OF WORK bosses like Sam Allardyce and Alan Curbishley are being lined up as mentors to a new breed of managers.

One of the chief concerns for rising stars of the managerial game is that they do not have anyone to turn to for advice when the going gets tough.

Now the bosses' union, the LMA, is discussing ways to help the next generation learn the ropes.

One idea is for the likes of Big Sam, Curbs (above) or Dave Bassett to be on the end of a phone or there in person to lend their experience when needed.
