Heller Machine Tools (US).
Robert Pelachyk moves to the post of president of Heller Machine Tools (US) (Troy, Mich.), a move announced by Manfred Maier, managing director fir sales and engineering of the parent firm Gebr. Heller Maschinenfabrik G.m.b.H.(Nuertingen, Germany,). The 42-year machine-tool-industry veteran comes to Heller from Maxcor's CrossHuller unit (Sterling Heights, Mich.), where he was executive vice president and general manager. He had joined that organization in 1997 as VP of operations and previously worked for Lamb Technicon, as VP of manufacturing. In his new position, Pelachyk will be responsible for day-to-day operations at Heller's North American assembly and service headquarters for its range of horizontal machining centers, transfer lines, and special machines. Privately held Heller, founded in 1894, had 2005 revenues of around $420-million, which puts it currently at number 22 on the online Machine Tool Scoreboard run by this newsletter.
