Heller Financial Names Mark Ohringer General Counsel.

CHICAGO, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire/ --

Heller Financial, Inc. (NYSE: HF) today announced that Mark Ohringer, 41, has been promoted to General Counsel, effective immediately.

Ohringer joined Heller's legal department in 1993 and spent the past four years as Chief Corporate Counsel. Earlier in his career, he was a partner at the Chicago-based law firm of Winston & Strawn. Ohringer received a bachelor's degree from Yale University and his law degree from Stanford Law School.

"During his tenure at Heller, Mark has distinguished himself as an excellent legal strategist and leader for our organization," said Richard J. Almeida, Heller's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "His strong understanding of our industry and Heller's operations across all business units uniquely position him to help lead Heller's push to further strengthen our position as a global leader in commercial finance."

Ohringer replaces Debra Snider, who left the organization last month.

"Heller is going to greatly miss Debra's strong leadership in the role of Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel, and we all wish her the best of luck in the future as she pursues new challenges," said Almeida. "She spearheaded our successful efforts over the past several years to align the company's Corporate Services and Legal Services departments with Heller's business strategies."
