Helen Mirren 'never felt maternal urge to have children'.

Washington, Sept 26 (ANI): Helen Mirren has revealed that she doesn't regret her decision not to have children, although she admits to having convinced herself to change her mind in the past.

According to The New Review, the 66-year-old actress who is married to director Taylor Hackford also said that she never felt maternal urges and is absolutely fine with the idea of not procreating as according to her the world is overpopulated.

"It's not that I don't love children, they are funny and I just love them, but I never wanted to have the, I really tried to want it at one point. I thought maybe I should. But I never convinced myself," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

"I think some men and women just don't have a deep urge to procreate.

"I think still it is very fine not to want children. There are far too many people in the world. It's my contribution to ecology," she stated.

The Academy award-winning actress claimed that the reason for not having children is also due to her "sense of adventurous".

"I still have a Gypsy sense of adventure. I don't think I have slept in the same bed for more than three or four months my whole life.

"I am always planting vegetables that I never get to eat and flowers tat I never get to see flower. I have always moved around the world," she added. (ANI)
