Heiny increases sales

Heineken N.V. recently announced net profits for 1989 rose 12 percent to $170.2 million from 1988's $152.2 per year earnings.

Sales at the Dutch brewer rose 7.5 percent to 4.09 billion from $3.91 billion. The company's per-share earnings gained 12 percent to $5.31 from $4.74.

Heineken's pretax operating profit rose 6.5 percent to $299.6 million for last year's $281.3 million. Although the company had higher sales because of good weather in Europe, lower profit margins places pressure on pre-tax operating profit.
