Heavy-duty cartridge seals.
SB1A and SB2A single and double heavy-duty cartridge seals are designed to withstand punishing vibration, shaft motion, shock, and cavitation without face distortion or cracking, O-ring hang-up, leakage, or failure.
A patented technique for fastening the seal faces with out drive pins ensures correct face alignment at elevated temperatures and eliminates the potential for face distortion or cracking. Located in the stationary housing, the seal springs are isolated from the product to prevent clogging and corrosion.
The patented PTFE slot ring replaces the traditional dynamic O-rings to prevent solids and fibers in the fluids from getting into the interior of the seal and causing hang-up, leakage, and failure.
The double-balanced design allows operation with pressurized or non-pressurized barrier fluid. Pressure shocks will not affect seal operation.
The single cartridge seals are suitable for a variety of fluids including wastewater, oils, solvents, and pulp. The double cartridge seal is designed for particularly severe applications such as cooking, evaporation, and causticizing services in pulp mills and toxic, environmentally hazardous, and abrasive liquids.
The piston design allows the seal to float with the shaft during axial movement.
