Heat stress.

Heat stress monitoring is now part of NAVEDTRA 43704 watchstation 318 as NAVEDTRA 43450-4B no longer contains Watchstation 303 Heat Stress Monitor. I am including the message below:

GENTEXT/REMARKS/ THIS IS A JOINT NAVSAFECEN AND NAVSAFENVTRACEN MESSAGE

1. REF A IS THE REVISION TO SAFETY PROGRAMS AFLOAT PERSONNEL QUALIFICATION STANDARDS (NAVEDTRA 43450-4B) ON NAVY KNOWLEDGE ONLINE. REF A HAS BEEN COMPLETELY REVISED TO ONLY INCLUDE DIVISIONAL SAFETY PETTY OFFICER WATCHSTATION 301 AND ELECTRICAL SAFETY OFFICER WATCHSTATION 304. PREREQUISTE ATTENDANCE OF THE SAFETY PROGRAMS AFLOAT COURSE (CIN A-493-2099) HAS BEEN DELETED FROM WATCHSTATION 301 DIVISIONAL SAFETY PETTY OFFICER. REF B STILL REQUIRES 50 PERCENT OF ALL SAFETY PETTY OFFICERS TO ATTEND THE SAFETY PROGRAM AFLOAT COURSE (A-493-2099). NAVEDTRA 43450-4B WATCHSTATIONS 302, 303, AND 305 HAVE BEEN DELETED. WATCHSTATION 302, ELECTRICAL TOOL ISSUE ROOM PETTY OFFICER AND WATCHSTATION 303, HEAT STRESS MONITOR, ARE CONTAINED IN REF C AS WATCHSTATIONS 313 AND 318 RESPECTIVELY. HEAT STRESS MONITOR IS ALSO TAUGHT THROUGH NAVY MEDICINE MANPOWER, PERSONNEL, TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND PREVENTIVE MEDICINE TECHNICIAN COURSE (B- 322-0012). WATCHSTATION 305, COLLATERAL DUTY SAFETY OFFICER, IS PART OF SURFACE WARFARE OFFICER DEPARTMENT HEAD COURSE (A-4H-0107) TAUGHT BY SURFACE WARFARE OFFICERS SCHOOL COMMAND. IT IS ALSO TAUGHT AS PART OF THE COLLATERAL DUTY AFLOAT SAFETY OFFICER COURSE (A4J-0020).

2. HAZARDOUS MATERIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION PROGRAMS AFLOAT PQS NAVEDTRA 43528-B HAS BEEN CANCELLED. THIS QUALIFICATION STANDARD WAS APPLIED TO SUPPORT TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR HAZARDOUS MATERIAL (HM) COORDINATOR, HAZARDOUS MATERIAL CONTROL AND MANAGEMENT (HMC&M) TECHNICIAN, AFLOAT ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION COORDINATOR, AND SPILL RESPONSE TEAM LEADERS. NAVEDTRA 43528-B IS CANCELLED AND REPLACED BY THE COURSE THAT HM COORDINATORS RECEIVE ENROUTE TO THE NAVY SUPPLY CORPS SCHOOL'S AFLOAT HAZARDOUS MATERIAL COORDINATOR COURSE (A- 8B-0008). THE HM SUPERVISOR/LEAD PETTY OFFICER AND OTHER ASSIGNED PERSONNEL ARE GRADUATES OF THE HMC&M TECHNICIAN (SNEC9595) COURSE (A-322-2600 OR A-322-2601). AFLOAT ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION COORDINATORS COMPLETE THE AFLOAT ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION COORDINATOR COURSE (A-4J-0021). SPILL RESPONSE TEAM LEADERS COMPLETE REF C WATCH STATION 324, OIL SPILL CLEAN UP SUPERVISOR.
