Heartsoft Ships First Copies of Internet Safari With Powerful New Features; New Capabilities to Better Meet Needs of Classroom Educators.

Business Editors & Technology Writers

TULSA, Okla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 7, 2001

Heartsoft, Inc. (OTCBB:HTSF) announced today that the company has begun shipping its new secure browser for children, Internet Safari(TM).

Attendees at the Texas Computer Education Association Convention (TCEA) will be among the first customers to purchase Internet Safari and its new Internet-based "Teacher's Features."

"During Internet Safari's final development, we reviewed the evolving use of the Internet by the three groups which comprise the educational community -- namely teachers, technology coordinators and school administrators -- and tailored Internet Safari with features we felt would satisfy each group's major needs," said Benjamin Shell, CEO of Heartsoft.

"For Internet Safari to be the de facto browser in the elementary school market, we believe it must become an indispensable classroom tool for obtaining information from the Internet. The version we are shipping today already has several key features we plan to include to help educators become more effective in the classroom."

Educators face a variety of challenges when trying to incorporate the Internet into a classroom with multiple computers and limited class time. Just as young students must be taught how to access the resources in a traditional library, they must also have assistance finding resources on the Internet. Internet Safari's "Teacher's Features" enables educators to type in a URL and transmit it to all student computers simultaneously, lock out student's keyboard and mouse inputs, monitor student Internet activities, and configure Internet Safari's security and administration functions all from the teacher workstation.

Nita Seng, Vice President of Sales and Marketing, commented: "Internet Safari empowers teachers to utilize the Internet on computers in a 35-40-minute classroom period. The teacher's challenge of trying to get thirty 6-year-olds to type in a URL are finally over."

Shell further stated: "In addition to the Internet security utilizing artificial intelligence, the patent-pending digital image analysis technology, as well as the superb cartoon graphic jungle safari-theme interface, we have designed Internet Safari to provide the best overall protection of children's privacy by not supporting tracking or cookies which could allow persons or companies to obtain information from children, parents, and educators."

In other news, Heartsoft has announced the addition of three popular websites to its list of quality Premium Content Providers for Internet Safari. They are Time for Kids, www.timeforkids.com, CBS Sportsline Kid's Zone, www.sportsline.com/u/kids and Crayola, www.crayola.com.

Parents and educators interested in downloading a free demonstration copy may visit Heartsoft's website at www.internet-safari.com.

Several other features of Internet Safari have been specifically designed to help educators use the Internet more easily in the classroom environment. These features will be demonstrated at the TCEA Convention.

Heartsoft will be located in Booth No.623 at the Austin Convention Center in Austin, Texas, from February 7 through February 9, 2001.

About Internet Safari

Under development for nearly two years, Heartsoft has merged Internet browser technology with artificial intelligence-based security, and a unique set of features specifically designed for the classroom environment to create a dynamic, new children's browser and education tool.

Internet Safari is specifically designed to augment the cognitive thinking abilities of young children by encouraging exploration of the Internet. By integrating its multi-level security protocols with patent-pending graphic image analysis and detection technology in a superb cartoon graphic jungle safari theme, Internet Safari empowers children with the ability to experience the wonders of the World Wide Web while being cuddled in virtual safety.

By adjusting the browser's security threshold tolerances, Internet Safari can be modified by parents and educators to reflect changes in a child's level of maturity and experience.

Unlike mere filtering technologies, Internet Safari does not limit children's access to a simple pre-selected list of web sites. Rather, it encourages children to follow their natural curiosity and explore the Internet by safely browsing the World Wide Web.

The Internet Safari Outpost portal page, included with every copy of Internet Safari, provides a great starting point for children to explore the nearly unlimited resources of the Internet. The many web sites in the Internet Safari portal were selected by parents and educators and have been grouped by content area to facilitate children's quests for information on the Internet.

Additionally, premium content provider links embedded in the interface provide quick, one-click access to top information sites such as The Weather Channel, Ask Jeeves For Kids, Merriam-Webster's On-Line, Time for Kids, CBS Sportsline Kid's Zone, and Crayola.com.
