Hearst Magazines Hosts ''30 Days of Fashion'' Event and Charity Auction; First Major Event in New Hearst Tower to Benefit Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

NEW YORK -- On September 14th, 2006, Hearst Magazines will celebrate its month-long "30 Days of Fashion" program with an event and charity auction showcasing the best in fashion and photography. Timed to take place during New York's Fashion Week, this will mark the first major event to be held at the newly-completed Hearst Tower, designed by renowned architect Lord Norman Foster. The event will include a photography exhibit titled "Getting Ready: The Art of Choice," assembled by renowned photography collector/curator John Bennette. The 30 fashion photographs will be auctioned off along with 30 unique fashion items and experiences. All proceeds will go to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF), a not-for-profit organization devoted to the formulation of early diagnostic treatment programs and research toward the ultimate conquest of ovarian cancer.

The event will kick off with a VIP reception and live auction by Jamie Niven of Sotheby's, followed by a cocktail party and silent auction. The honorary committee includes notables such as Giorgio Armani, Samantha Boardman, Tory Burch, Simon Doonan, Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, Amanda Hearst, Lydia Hearst-Shaw, Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Isaac Mizrahi, Patrick McMullan, Narciso Rodriguez, Kate and Andy Spade and Vera Wang.

The photographs that will be auctioned all relate to the theme of the event and feature works by a number of well-known photographers, including Bryan Adams, Tina Barney, Patrick Demarchelier, Jessica Todd-Harper, Karl Lagerfeld, Peter Lindbergh, Matthew Pillsbury, Timothy Greenfield-Sanders, Vee Speers, and Timothy White.

Other auction items include a private dinner prepared by a celebrity chef in the Hearst Tower, hosted by Town & Country Editor in Chief Pamela Fiori; a Donna Karan gown worn by Ashley Judd; a Prada top featured on the September cover of O, The Oprah Magazine; a trip to India; a one-of-a-kind crocodile Tod's handbag; tickets to a New York Fashion Week show as a guest of Cosmopolitan and more.

The event's design and decor is being produced by David Stark, one of New York's hottest event planners and co- author of To Have and To Hold and Wildflowers. In addition to having planned several Hearst marquee events in the past, including Redbook's Mothers & Shakers and House Beautiful's Giants of Design, Stark has created elaborate events for the New York City Opera, MoMA, Sotheby's, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Target.

The four title advertisers involved in Hearst's 30 Days of Fashion initiative - Citi, L'Oreal Paris, LensCrafters and Gold Expressions Available at Fortunoff - are also sponsors of the event.

The event and charity auction is part of Hearst's 30 Days of Fashion multimedia program for the fashion consumer. In addition to the invitation-only benefit on September 14th, during the month of September, nine Hearst titles - Cosmopolitan; CosmoGIRL!; Esquire; Harper's Bazaar; Marie Claire; O, The Oprah Magazine; Seventeen; SHOP Etc. and Town & Country - will host events, fashion shows, cocktail parties, trunk shows, store openings and more throughout New York City.
