Healthy Choice introduces first novelties.

Healthy Choice is introducing a new line of Premium Low Fat Frozen Novelties, the first frozen novelties to be available under that brand. The line is being launched in select markets around the country in five varieties available in six-pack cartons with a suggested retail price of $4.99.

Joe Ennen, vice president and general manager for Healthy Choice, said: "Now more than ever, consumers are demanding great taste and nutrition from their favorite foods. Healthy Choice Premium Low Fat Frozen Novelties provide consumers with the great taste experience they want from ice cream combined with the health benefits they are looking for."

The five varieties are: Premium Low Fat Fudge Bars, Premium Low Fat Strawberry & Cream Bars, Premium Caramel Swirl Sandwich, Premium Fudge Swirl Sandwich, and Premium Vanilla Sandwich. The new novelties, which contain no more than three grams of fat per unit, can be used by consumers following the Weight Watchers POINTS Exchange System under which they are valued at three or less points per serving.

Healthy Choice claims the Number One spot among nationally distributed low fat ice cream nationally. Packaged products are available in two lines: Premium Low Fat Ice Cream and Premium Low Fat, No Sugar Added Ice Cream. Between them, the lines feature more than 25 different varieties of ice cream, "from Rocky Road to Cappuccino Chocolate Chunk to Fudge Bars."

Healthy Choice, a ConAgra Foods brand, was launched in 1989 as a line of frozen dinners. Ice cream was one of the first additional categories to be introduced under the brand, which now includes more than 200 Healthy Choice items in nine retail food categories.
