Health centre is a real tonic.
Southdene Primary Care Resource Centre on Bewley Drive will provide better surroundings for patients and improved services.
The move will allow a local GP practice to expand and provide a wider range of services and clinics.
The centre also houses Knowsley council social services' adult supporting people team and is a base for district nurses.
Local neighbourhood wardens, who serve the south Kirkby area, are also based in the building.
The building was the former infant school building of St Joseph the Workers school which now shares a building with the juniors.
The project was funded by Knowsley Primary Care Trust.
Rosemary Hawley, chairwoman of Knowsley PCT, said: ``This is a fantastic facility for the people of Southdene and a great improvement in working conditions for our staff.''
