TV star Ray Mears has been fired as a PS10,000 caravan show speaker after calling mobile homes "hideous" and "ghastly".
The survival show presenter tracks bears and wolves in the wild but got a mauling from caravanners after his comments on Room 101.
Mears, 49, chose caravans as his pet hate on Frank Skin ner's BBC1 show, arguing for them to be banished forever.
He said: "I get stuck behind them. I think they're hideous.
Huge swathes of our coastline are covered. They're like mobile breadbins.
"All you can see are cities of these displaced people in their ghastly white caravans."
Caravanners hit fever pitch after his remarks last Friday night and Mears's lucrative personal appearance was cancelled at the Camping and Motorhome Show at Birmingham's NEC next month. Promoter Emma Entwistle said: "We can't align with someone who doesn't agree with our core values. He has insulted the people who come to the show."
Mary Perry said on the Caravan Times website: "Justice has been served."
Chris Wright wrote: "We as caravanners don't need to hear from him any more."
Organisers said Mears's comments had been recorded before he was booked. They said: "His agent should have made us aware of this."
