Hayling Island, Hampshire.

A new world-class vision for Hayling Island seafront has been created by Hampshire-based landscape architects Terra Firma and architects HGP. It could transform Hayling's seafront into one of the most exciting stretches of coast in the UK. The new focus on culture and design, plus the emphasis on quality of life for both residents and visitors, could make Hayling Island one of the top seaside holiday destinations in the country--and act as a catalyst for the regeneration of this once popular area.

The new Masterplan for the rundown seafront includes a two-mile-long serpentine timber boardwalk, watersports centre, hotel, adventure play areas, events area, luxury apartments, BMX track, skateboard park, all-weather facilities, a sculpture trail and various cafes and restaurants.

Terra Firma have worked with architects HGP and tourism consultants Planning Solutions on behalf of Havant Borough Council to create the Masterplan, intended to give an idea of the huge potential for growth and development on the seafront.

Havant Borough Council are currently holding public consultations on the Masterplan, and will then look to secure funding for Phase I of the scheme.
