SuperValu and Select Comfort Substantially Expand Existing Accounts;
NetRadio.com Is Added To Client Roster
Haworth Marketing & Media Inc., one of the top 10 independently owned media services agencies in the United States, with offices in Los Angeles and Minneapolis and more than $300 million in traditional billings, has announced that clients SuperValu and Select Comfort have expanded their business with Haworth, and that NetRadio.com has been added as a new client.
All three companies are Minneapolis-based and will be managed from Haworth's Minneapolis office.
"We are delighted that SuperValu and Select Comfort have chosen to expand their business with us," stated Gary Tobey, Haworth's chief executive officer. "Since most of our business is retail-oriented, we are particularly excited about working with NetRadio.com. Like retail, Web strategy is about building brands and creating traffic," Tobey added.
SuperValu, the nation's leading food distribution company and currently the eleventh largest food retailer, has been a Haworth client since 1988 with its Cub Food Stores business.
In addition to Cub Food Stores, Haworth will now be providing media planning and placement for SuperValu's 366 retail food stores nationwide, including Shop 'n Save, bigg's, Scott's Foods, Laneco and Hornbachers. The Richards Group in Dallas will be providing creative.
Select Comfort, the leading alternative mattress company and forerunner in air bed technology, has been a Haworth client since June 1998. Select chose Haworth to help build the retail store division, which consists of 275 retail stores across the United States.
The retail marketing effort began as a test in four markets and will have expanded to 29 markets by year-end 1999. This growth will continue into 2000. The retail divisions have experienced exponential sales growth. Haworth is providing media planning and buying services; Minneapolis-based Kruskopf Olson is managing creative.
Haworth's newest client is NetRadio.com, the leading provider of originally programmed music and audio content (music news and information) on the Internet with 120 channels of original programming.
A majority-owned subsidiary of Navarre Corp., a major publisher and distributor of quality consumer and software entertainment products, NetRadio.com boasts more than one million unique visitors per month and its own CD online store (250,000 titles). Haworth will conduct the Internet company's multi-media campaign; creative will be provided by Minneapolis-based Peterson Milla Hooks.
