Have say on future of island village.

A PLAN to further develop a seaside village renowned for its popularity with windsurfers and surfers has been launched.

Anglesey County Council has commissioned a team of consultants, led by Jon Rowland Urban Design, to prepare a Coastal Recreation Masterplan for Rhosneigr.

It aims to maximise on-shore and off-shore facilities to develop local economic benefits, create new jobs and assess the potential impact of coastal use.

Now, residents and businesses are being encouraged to attend a drop-in session at Rhosneigr Village Hall between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday, May 1. There they can share their ideas and thoughts about the future of coastal recreation in the village.

Anglesey's head of economic development Sasha Wynn Davies said: "We have to ensure we get the balance right for Rhosneigr.

"The village has huge potential in terms of tourism, coastal recreation and water sports, but we must also ensure that local residents and businesses have a voice and a role to play in future developments."

She added: "I would encourage all businesses and residents to attend the drop-in session.

"It will provide an opportunity for them to meet our consultants and discuss any ideas which could help shape the masterplan and future proposals.". For further information on the drop-in session, residents can contact Jon Rowland Urban Design on 01865 863642 or e-mail:
