Hauspurg to lead child care group.
Peter Hauspurg, chairman of Eastern Consolidated, a real estate investment services firm, has begun his three-year term as president of the Board of Trustees of Jewish Child Care Association (JCCA), a nonsectarian institution founded in 1822 serving 16,000 children and families in the New York metropolitan area.
Hauspurg will oversee a $90 million annual budget with 1,100 employees as board president at JCCA.
As a lifelong advocate and philanthropist for the New York area community, Hauspurg is also a member of other numerous boards.
"We are very fortunate to have Peter as our new Board President," stated Richard Altman, CEO of JCCA. "We will benefit from his visionary approach, his considerable business acumen and his deep commitment to philanthropy."
In addition, Hauspurg's wife, Daun Paris, president of Eastern Consolidated, has been an active trustee of JCCA for many years.
Between their combined efforts, he and Ms. Paris have been dedicated to the JCCA cause over the last 11 years through the creation of new programs, fundraising efforts and the donation of a building.
Hauspurg has also redeveloped three Harlem apartment buildings under the auspices of New York City's Third Party Transfer Program, which are now occupied as affordable housing, and financed by HPD and the Community Preservation Corp.
