Hats off to Yard walk.

MORE than 1,000 Titanic Yardmen throw their hats in the air after a sponsored walk for Bowel Cancer yesterday.

Dressed as Harland and Wolff workers from the early 20th century, the walkers and cyclists followed in the footsteps of the generations who made their living in the Yard.

The route finished at Belfast new iconic Titanic visitor centre where local actor Dan Gordon was one of the walkers.

He said: "It is a spectacle in itself to see so many people, including many ex-shipyard workers, recognising the role of the yardmen while raising money for a great cause."

The Titanic Yardmen Cycle and Walk was a tribute to the work of the late Rosi Kirker-Miller.

Following her bowel cancer diagnosis she, dedicated her life to raising awareness of and funding for the treatment of the killer disease.
