Hat's history! Princess Bea gets degree; ROYAL.

Byline: VICTORIA MURPHY

PRINCESS Beatrice graduated from university yesterday with a 2:1 honours degree in history.

Proud parents Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah, Duchess of York, watched as she joined hundreds of former students for a graduation ceremony at the University of London's Goldsmiths College, in New Cross, South-East London.

There was no sign of the silly hat she wore for her cousin William's wedding as Beatrice, 23, wore a traditional mortar board and gown with a brown hood, the colour of a Bachelor of Arts degree from the university.

She will now take up a series of internships to prepare her for a wider role within the Royal Family.

A Buckingham Palace spokesman said: "This will develop her experience, particularly in business and philanthropy." Beatrice is already an ambassador for Children in Crisis.
