Hartson: Mogga is right man.

FORMER Celtic striker John Hartson has hailed Tony Mowbray as the perfect choice for the Hoops job.

The West Brom boss is set to be unveiled within the next 48 hours despite the Midlands club insisting they have yet to receive an approach from Partkhead.

But Hartson, who had a spell at the Baggies under Mowbray, has no doubts that Celtic chiefs have the right man.

John said: "They've made the perfect appointment. When I was asked last week I said Tony was the man.

"He's a fantastic guy, great temperament, fantastic coach and can deal with players.

"He is definitely the right man for the job. I'm delighted for Tony and I'm delighted for the Celtic faithful." Confidence Hartson insists his old gaffer has all the qualities to succeed at Celts. h

He said: "He basically lets you go and express yourself. He loves footballers to go and enjoy the game and do the right thing on the pitch and what they're good at.

"Tony gives you lots and lots of confidence. Apart from that, he's just a really nice guy. He's a man's man, he tells you how it is." Hartson knows some Celts fans may be unhappy if Mowbray does get the job just weeks after West Brom were relegated.

But he added: "They actually had a decent season. They played some good football and were unlucky to lose a lot of games.

"What I would say to those fans is to give him a chance."
