Harrow man charged with raping teenager on Brighton Beach; An 18-year-old woman was taken to hospital and is being supported by specialist officers.

AHarrow man is going to appear in court charged with raping a teenager onBrighton Beach.

Sussex Police officers were sent to the Kings Road Arches area of the seafront at 4.30am on Saturday (September 7) as door staff at a nightclub restrained a man after witnesses reported a suspected sexual assault on a woman on the beach.

An 18-year-old woman was taken to hospital and is being supported by specialist officers, a Sussex Police spokesman said.

Ben Abdenour, of Sheepcote Road, in Harrow, was arrested and has been charged with rape.

The 28-year-old has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Brighton Magistrates' Court for a first hearing on Monday (9 September).
