Hard choices.

Mr Macdonald has chosen to blame the current economic crisis on one woman-shades of blaming everything on former US president George W Bush (GDN, May 4). Former British premier Margaret Thatcher made hard choices at a time when the UK was on the verge of political and economic collapse.

One final point is that because a few "barrow boy" journalists in 1982 chose to make disgusting statements about the sinking of the Belgrano does not mean that British people celebrated the death of enemy combatants.
