Happy to the end.

Clare Barnes was "happy beyond belief" just moments before her parachute failed to open, sending her plummeting to her death on her 200th skydive, her boyfriend said today.

Clare, 24, daughter of TV newscaster Carol Barnes and Minister for Europe Denis MacShane, died last week in the accident near Melbourne.

"There was a glint in her eye, she was happy beyond belief, she was

exhilarated," her boyfriend, Chris McDougall, said.

McDougall and nine friends made a memorial jump on Sunday above the site where she died, scattering some of her ashes in the sky.
