Hannon and Evans bid to add to haul; RACE IN FOCUS.

Byline: Andrew Scutts

6.40 WINDSOR RICHARD HANNON and David Evans have won tonight's Weatherbys Bank Conditions Stakes (6.40) at Windsor five times between them since 2002, and the pair field two-thirds of the runners this year.

Hannon saddles Cape To Rio, the choice of Richard Hughes, and Takeaway (Patrick Hills) against the Evans-trained duo Style And Panache and Scarlet Rocks, both last-time-out winners, and the mounts of Cathy Gannon and Hayley Turner.

Hannon has landed this contest three times in the past eight years, through Tizzy May, Green Park and Monsieur Chevalier, and in the shape of three and three-quarterlength Folkestone scorer Cape To Rio in particular, he appears to have another good chance.

He said yesterday: "I suppose he looks the pick of my two, and Hughesie has chosen him. We'll find out if he's right.

"The ground should be no problem for either of them, and Cape To Rio doesn't get a penalty so is favoured by the conditions."

Scarlet Rocks ended a four-long sequence of seconds when scoring at Brighton seven days ago, while Style And Panache has also made a bright start to her career, with two thirds, a second and a win.

Evans landed this race with Eileen's Violet and White Shift in 2007 and 2008.

Completing the sextet in the line-up are Lord Avon and Prophet In A Dream.
