Hanley Wood to launch "Architect" magazine in October.
Hanley Wood (Washington, D.C.), a portfolio company of JPMorgan Partners (New York), will begin the publication of "Architect" magazine with an issue in October. The new title will be published twice in 2006 and monthly beginning in 2007, with a controlled circulation of practicing architects.Hanley Wood said the magazine's focus will be on information "critical to practicing architects, delivering information and ideas to inspire their designs, enhance their practice, expand their business and connect with their peers." Specific information on editorial content and advertising will be forthcoming.
Hanley Wood Magazines Division president Peter Goldstone said the launch is in response to the "explosive growth in non-residential construction," noting that approximately 96 billion square feet of new institutional and commercial space will be designed and built between 2000 and 2030, "as much as existed in 2000," Goldstone said. The magazine will launch with a companion web site and will be announced officially at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) show in June.
It will become a part of Hanley Wood's Commercial Group of magazines, including Residential architect. Hanley Wood publishes 28 residential and commercial construction titles, including "Builder," "Big Builder, "Journal of Light Construction" and "Concrete Construction," among others.
