Handheld metal detector.

Rapiscan Security Products of Hawthorne, California, has introduced a handheld metal detector that can handle tough environments and constant use. The Rapiscan IPD-9 is solid state throughout, except for a minimum pressure on/off micro-switch. It can withstand at least 10 million operations and incorporates linear detection technology in order to ensure that all metals can be detected in any angle or plane. Extremely sensitive, it emits a clear, audible alarm, which is combined with a visual LED display. It is effective when moving towards or across the target and can quickly and accurately locate the target. Power is supplied by an easily connected 9-volt battery. 331
