Hamilton denies employing 'mind games' against Rosberg in race for F1 title.
London, July 18 ( ANI ): Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has said that he is not trying to employ mind games against his teammate Nico Rosberg as both battle for the Formula One championship.
Hamilton said that this weekend's German Grand Prix was not really Rosberg's home race.
Hamilton said that he does not play mind games with Rosberg, adding that the German is a very intelligent driver, The BBC reported.
The Briton said that he does not get into such things, adding that it is a great battle between them and he is sure that it would be very close.
Both the teammates have since dismissed Hamilton's remark; based on Rosberg's upbringing in Monaco and the fact his father is Finnish and his mother German, as a joke.
Rosberg, who leads Hamilton by four points heading into this weekend's race, said that he does not read the media, so most of the time he does not know what's going on, but this he did know about.
The German said that he was there and it was more or less a joke discussion.
Hamilton added that they are not really playing mind games but every time they go faster it naturally has an effect on the mind, and that this year it is just fiercely competitive.
The Briton said that both he and Rosberg are going to be head-to-head hopefully for the rest of the year, and who can keep their head more would probably come out on top. ( ANI )
