Hamilton: Summit's not right.

GLENAVON player boss Gary Hamilton isn't getting carried away by his team's table-topping start to the Danske Bank Premiership.

The Lurgan Blues lie a point clear of reigning champions Cliftonville at the league summit heading into today's Mid-Ulster derby with Portadown at Mourneview Park.

Hamilton is content with Glenavon's start to the campaign, but added: "We had the same points tally seven games into last season, so we're not getting carried away with where we are in the table. Our next two games are also against Portadown and Linfield and those fixtures will give us a good idea of where we are.

"Portadown is a massive game. I firmly believe they should be challenging for the title this season."

Elsewhere, third-placed BALLYMENA UNITED are looking to bounce back from last week's 3-0 defeat at Ballinamallard United when they host GLENTORAN at the Showgrounds.

Sky Blues boss Glenn Ferguson said: "We need a radical improvement on last week's performance."

DUNGANNON SWIFTS boss Darren Murphy is demanding "more goals" from his team heading into today's clash with Crusaders at Stangmore Park.

"Our defensive record is good, but we need to be more clinical in front of goal," he said."

INSTITUTE, who lost 4-1 to Glenavon last Saturday, face BALLINAMALLARD UNITED at Ferney Park.
