Hall we hoped.

A school's new sports hall and fitness suite has celebrated a successful first year in operation.

The four-court hall and suite at Harton Technology College, in South Shields, were visited by staff from the Big Lottery Fund, which last year allocated pounds 1,241,250 to the project from its PE and Sports Programme.

The group's grant officer said he was impressed with school and community use of the new hall and it was one of the best projects he had visited here. The visit was to ensure the project was delivering results, before releasing the last 5% of funding.
