Hain to talk about impact of barrage; NEWS IN BRIEF.

FORMER Welsh Secretary Peter Hain has agreed to meet councillors in Sully to discuss the impact building the Severn Barrage could have on the area.

Earlier this year, Sully Community Council wrote to Mr Hain asking for a meeting.

Mr Hain resigned from his shadow cabinet post to campaign for construction of the Severn Barrage.

In the letter to Mr Hain, council clerk David Roberts said: "I believe it would be beneficial if you were able to meet with the residents of Sully in order that you could share your views with them."

Mr Hain's office has now confirmed he or a representative will meet residents and councillors.
