Hagedorn charged with graft.

The Office of the Ombudsman (OMB) has filed corruption and perjury charges against former Puerto Princesa Mayor Edward Hagedorn before the Sandiganbayan for allegedly submitting false statements of assets liabilities and net worth (SALN).

In a resolution approved last Tuesday, the OMB said Hagedorn had submitted untruthful SALNs from 2004 to 2012, as he failed to declare his 59 parcels of real estate properties including commercial lots, buildings and agricultural lands.

The Ombudsman also said the former city mayor did not include in his SALNs ownership of 49 vehicles including Toyota Land Cruiser, Volvo, BMW and motorcycles.

The indictment stated that Hagedorn failed to disclose his business interests in a number of business enterprises like the Palawan Jolly Foods Corporation, Puerto Princesa Broadcasting Corporation, Puerto Prince Bee Foods Corporation, Green Forest Blue Waters Corporation, Radiant Home Land Development, Inc. and Hagedorn Travel and Tours, Inc.
