Hadden aiming to mimic Welsh success on pitch.

Wales were today sent a warning by a buoyant Scottish team ahead of Sunday's Six Nations clash at the Millennium Stadium: 'We'll be trying to beat you at your own game.'

The message came from Scotland coach Frank Hadden, who has admitted for the first time his side's plan for success this season is to copy the all-out attacking style the Welsh side patented in their 2005 Grand Slam campaign.

And already it has paid dividends, with a stunning 20-16 victory against favourites France on the opening weekend.

'We have taken great heart from the way Wales played and succeeded in the Championship last season,' admitted Hadden.

'And my players believe they can achieve something similar.

'It might not yield a Grand Slam or even a championship, but if we play with the same spirit, heart and approach that Wales employed there is no reason why we can't improve greatly on the last few years.

'Our guys have renewed confidence. They have looked at the defeat to the Welsh last year and the manner of it and learned some lessons and we'll be trying to take that forward on Sunday again.'

And Hadden warned Mike Ruddock that the contrasting fortunes of each side last weekend could have a bearing on Sunday's encounter.

'You cannot get away from it - players like to win and if they do, they are happy players,' he added.

'You could see that with Wales last season. They started with a win against England and as they moved on they seemed to enjoy it even more.

'Let's hope that happens to us.'
