Habib Bank Limited celebrates its Golden Jubilee in 1991. The Bank had made a modest beginning in the year 1941 thus ushering an era of entrepreneurship in the realm of Banking for the Muslims of the sub-continent. In fact the life span of 50 years of Habib Bank Limited is not only the history of an institution but the history of a period of renaissance for the Muslims of South Asia.

To commemorate the occasion, the celebration started on 1st January, 1991 at 10.00 a.m. at Habib Bank Plaza, Karachi, with recitation from the Holy Quran. The President, Directors, executives and a large number of staff assembled on the occasion and prayed to Allah for the progress and prosperity of the bank and the country. They also pledged to work with greater zeal and enthusiasm to achieve the nation's goal. A large number of multi-coloured balloons bearing commemoration "Habib Bank - Golden Jubilee, 1941 - 91" were released giving an eye catching view.

Mr. Abdul Aziz Sakrani, President of the Bank, in his message advised the staff to live up to the traditions of the institution to which they belong by offering both attention and service to the customers at personal level. He emphasised upon the need to accept new challenges thrown open by the changed environments. Habib Bank, the premier bank of the country, with its 1838 domestic branches, 66 overseas branches, 2 subsidiaries 2 affiliates, 7 representative offices and its dedicated staff is committed to all nation building activities of the country and achieving other socio-economic objectives. The Golden Jubilee celebration shall continue throughout the year as 1991 has been declared as Golden Jubilee year of Habib Bank.
