ALF-INGE Haaland, the father of Borussia Dortmund star Erling and former City captain, has voiced his frustrations after news emerged that Jadon Sancho's move for United is nearing its conclusion.
United have agreed a PS73million fee with Dortmund as Sancho is expected to sign a five-year deal in the coming days, after previously agreeing personal terms with the club.
The England international is expected to undergo a medical before being announced as an official United player by the end of the week.
The 21-year-old will be returning to England after four years with the German side where he established himself as one of Europe's best wingers in recent seasons.
Sancho formed a formidable Dortmund attacking partnership with Erling Haaland, who continues to be linked with a move to a number of Europe's elite sides, including both Manchester clubs who are admirers of the striker.
And Haaland's father, who donned the shirt of City for three years and also represented Leeds, took to Twitter to voice his frustration at seeing Sancho leave the Westfalenstadion - while also wishing the youngster the best ahead of his arrival at Old Trafford.
"But all the best Jadon Sancho. You will be missed", Haaland Snr posted on Twitter in reply to the Sancho news.
His tweet makes for interesting reading as many fans took it to mean his son will still be playing for Dortmund next season.
