HYATT HOTELS PRESIDENT GETS NEW JOB

HYATT HOTELS PRESIDENT GETS NEW JOB
ATLANTA, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Who is the newest line employee at

the Hyatt Regency Atlanta?
On Sept. 23, it will be Darryl Hartley-Leonard, president of Hyatt Hotels Corporation. The 28-year Hyatt veteran will work side-by-side employees in the hotel's kitchen, lobby restaurant, housekeeping department and employee cafeteria as part of Hyatt's National In Touch Day program.
Hartley-Leonard worked in the hotel's front desk and reservations department when it opened in 1967. During his long history with Hyatt, he also served as the hotel's general manager and regional vice president. A large number of the employees currently working at the hotel have previously worked with Hartley-Leonard and look forward to his return.
"I can't wait to see if he's still got what it takes to hustle up breakfast for the guests in the morning," noted Fran Garrick, a waitress in the Kafe Kobenhavn since 1969. "He was always so helpful...it'll feel good to have him back in the kitchens with us again."
Along with his waiter duties in the Kafe Kobenhavn, Hartley-Leonard will also be making beds in guest rooms, decorating cakes and pastries in the kitchen, and serving lunch to employees in their cafeteria.
"Solid lines of communication and shared experiences between management and line employees both are critical to the success of any business," said Hartley-Leonard. "Our annual National Hyatt In Touch Day continues our commitment to alleviate one of travelers' biggest fears -- that of poor service -- while increasing team productivity and comforts on the job."
Hartley-Leonard, who serves as chairman of the U.S. Department of Commerce's Travel and Tourism Advisory Board, on the executive committee of the Go USA! Travel Coalition and as a trustee of the American Hotel Foundation, will be available to the media on Sept. 23 for interviews on the status of the U.S. hospitality industry and Hyatt's National In Touch Day. Media representatives are invited to work alongside Hartley- Leonard in the hotel or visit him in one of his work areas.
