HWB Inc. Promotional Marketing today unveiled the Mobile Suit Gundam Invasion Tour Truck created for Bandai America.

Yvette Brown and Shari Nomady, managing partners of HWB, introduced the truck for HWB's first and only presentation at El Dorado Park (2800 Studebaker Rd.) in Long Beach as children, ages 5-12, gathered to get their first in-person glimpse of this Japanese phenomenon.

Children lined up for an exciting tour of the 53-foot truck and tribute to the Gundam product line and history. Kids from El Dorado summer camp, Cubberley Elementary School, and Keller Elementary School in Long Beach were anxious to test out the fun factor of the truck. "I think these kids will see the Gundam world for the first time and quickly become part of the phenomenon.

"We've already seen 95% of children visitors throughout other U.S. city stops clamoring for product after this short introduction to Gundam," said Nomady, herself a mother of three girls.

As children entered the truck modeled after a Mobile Suit Gundam factory, their first view was of looping animated Mobile Suit Gundam series episodes in a life-size Gundam hand replica.

Inside the truck, they viewed and learned the history on Gundam model kit action figures, saw "perfect grade" models made with more than 600 pieces, and touched life-size Gundam objects including a sample Gundanium alloy and a Gundam size comparison chart.

Outside the truck, kids played unreleased Gundam PlayStation 2 games including the newly debuting title Journey to Jaburo and experienced live model-kit building demonstrations.

"The truck has been Bandai's segue into new cultural horizons as well as a wider demographic. Additionally, it has exposed the breadth of the Gundam product line from TV series to comics and model kits to action figures and video games and much more in a grassroots fashion," said Brown.

Moms and kids can see more of the Gundam truck this weekend, Friday July 13 at the Santa Monica Pier from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and at Wal-Mart locations from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday the 14th at 13331 Beach Blvd. in Westminster and Sunday the 15th at 2300 N. Tustin St. in Orange.

The event included corporate and media tours as well as discussion by Brown and Nomady as industry experts on "Mobile Marketing in the 21st Century."
