 HURRICANE DAMAGE TO MIAMI SAMURAI
MIAMI, Sept. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The Samurai Japanese Steak and

Seafood restaurant located in South Miami sustained substantial damage from Hurricane Andrew. Management of the company estimates the property damage may exceed $1 million and that rebuilding the closed restaurant could take as long as 6 months to a year. Management of the company is in close contact with its insurance company representatives in an effort to determine the extent of damage and insurance coverage.
The company had approximately 50 employees at this location. Although some employees lost their homes, the company knows of no injuries or fatalities in its employee group. The company has joined with employees of the remaining Samurai restaurants located throughout the eastern United States to establish a hurricane relief fund to help with emergency financial needs of its Miami employees. The corporate office located in North Miami sustained minor damage, but is operating.
The Samurai is operated by Rudy's Restaurant Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: RUDY). The company owns and operates five other Samurai restaurants located outside of Florida.
