HUNTINGTON BANKS BUYS DEPOSITS OF ROCHESTER OFFICE OF FIRST FEDERAL SAVINGS

 TROY, Mich., Aug. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Huntington Banks of Michigan purchased the deposits of the Rochester office of First Federal Savings and Loan Association, 407 Main St. in downtown Rochester. Bank president, Charles G. Dharte Jr., announced the transaction. The purchase became effective at the close of business on Friday, Aug. 27, 1993.
 "We're pleased with our new office and are looking forward to being a part of the Rochester community," said Dharte. Huntington Banks now has 39 offices in Macomb, Oakland and Wayne counties. Its main office is located in Troy.
 Previous customers of First Federal Savings and Loan Association will receive a letter from Huntington Banks concerning the purchase. Along with all other members of the Rochester community, previous First Federal customers are encouraged to visit the new Rochester office of Huntington Banks for their financial services needs.
 Currently, Huntington Banks are offering some of the lowest rates in southeastern Michigan on home equity lines of credit and used car loans. Their home equity line rate is 7.5 percent APR and the used car loan rate is 8 percent APR.
 Huntington Banks is the seventh-largest bank in Michigan with $1.5 billion in assets. The bank is an affiliate of Huntington Bancshares (NASDAQ-NMS: HBAN) of Columbus, Ohio, one of the largest and most respected banking organizations in the country.
