HUNTER RESOURCES, INC. NAMES NEW ADVISORY DIRECTOR AND CONSULTANT

 IRVING, Texas, June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Hunter Resources, Inc. (BSE: HNT), announced today the appointment of James R. Renfro as an advisory director and consultant to the company effective June 1, 1993, with the express purpose of evaluating and securing financing and providing equity for energy transactions presently under consideration by Hunter Resources, Inc.
 Mr. Renfro has been a vice president at EnCap Investments, L.C. EnCap acts as an investment management and investment banking firm representing institutional investors and as a leading independent source of capital for the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining EnCap, Mr. Renfro was in the corporate planning group of Shell Oil Company where he was responsible for Shell's competitive analysis effort and development of energy industry studies focusing on the natural gas business and the world outlook. Prior to Shell, Mr. Renfro spent two years in New York in Dean Witter Reynolds' corporate finance department where he was involved in merger and acquisition activities, preferred stock underwritings, initial public offerings, and private placement transactions. Mr. Renfro also worked six years for Exxon Company as a reservoir and facilities engineer in the Houston and Tyler, Texas, offices. His duties included all aspects of reservoir engineering, overall responsibility for remedial work programs in the East Texas Field, and the design, evaluation and installation of surface facilities in the Austin Chalk and Gulf Coast areas. Mr. Renfro received a masters of business administration degree specializing in finance from the University of Chicago and bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Kentucky.
 Commenting on Mr. Renfro's appointment, Hunter's president, Gary C. Evans, stated that "with the experience and financial contacts of Mr. Renfro and his new consulting company in dealing with non- traditional financial institutions and equity investors as it pertains to evaluating and securing financing for energy transactions and investments in the oil and gas industry, we have already begun the process to establish new relationships with these institutions to assist us in the funding of our acquisitions." Producing properties and pipelines presently under serious consideration for purchase exceed $20 million and will require capital from these new sources.
 Hunter Resources, Inc., is an energy development and management company engaged in three principal activities: (i) the production and sale of crude oil, condensate and natural gas; (ii) the gathering, transmission, and marketing of natural gas; and (iii) the business of managing and operating producing oil and natural gas properties for non- operating interest owners. Effective Jan. 14, 1993, the common stock of Hunter Resources, Inc., formerly Intramerican Corporation, began trading on the Boston Stock Exchange under the new ticker symbol "HNT".
